MECHANICAL
The DHC-301 directly mounts in place of a DHC-300.
ELECTRICAL
The connectors that plug into a DHC-300 can plug directly into a DHC-301; rewiring is not required. The DHC-301 also provides a selection for a 2-10V command signal, which is not available on the DHC-300.
FUNCTIONAL
Both units detect various fault conditions. The DHC-300 has a single FAULT indicator that flashes whenever a fault condition has been detected, where the DHC-301 has three FAULT indicators that turn on or flash to indicate the specific fault that has been detected.
When using a 1-5V or 4-20mA command signal, the DHC-300 will treat a signal above 5.5V or 22mA as a "loss of command" and responds by moving the actuator to the selected position set for a "loss of command". The DHC-301 detects this condition as a "command out of range" fault and responds by turning the actuator motor off. The DHC-301 also detects this condition for 0-5V, 0-10V, and 2-10V signals, where the DHC-300 does not.
